Adult BJJ — Gi & No-Gi
A complete program for adults of any experience level. Drill fundamentals, learn techniques layered for retention, then test them in live rounds with partners who match your pace.
A serious gym. A welcoming room. Train the world's most effective grappling art with people who'll treat you like family from day one.
Insomnia Jiu Jitsu is a Daytona Beach gym for people who take this seriously — and for people who've never set foot on a mat. Whether you're here to lose weight, learn self-defense, sharpen your edge for competition, or just find something better than scrolling at night, you'll find a room of training partners who actually want you to get better. We believe technique beats strength, attention to detail beats ego, and a welcoming room beats every other gym in town.
Four ways to train at Insomnia. Every program is open to every member — start where you're comfortable and grow from there.
A complete program for adults of any experience level. Drill fundamentals, learn techniques layered for retention, then test them in live rounds with partners who match your pace.
Train alongside athletes preparing for IBJJF and local tournaments. Sharper drilling, harder rounds, and real coaching through a competitive season.
Unstructured rolling time. Bring your questions, work the position you've been struggling with, and roll with whoever's there. Open to members and visiting grapplers.
Built for people with jobs and families. Show up to whatever fits this week — there's no minimum and no judgment.
Three coaches. One philosophy: technique over force, detail over ego, growth at every level.
Jessie built Insomnia from the ground up in Daytona Beach. Ten-plus years on the mats, decorated competitor, and a coach known for careful, detail-driven instruction that meets every student where they are. Safety, technique, and steady progress are the cornerstones of how she teaches.
Sadiq is the technician of the room. He breaks positions down to the smallest details and rebuilds them step by step until you actually feel the lever click. Patient with new students, sharp with advanced ones, and quietly responsible for half the breakthroughs that happen here.
David is the energy of the gym. He remembers what your first month felt like and coaches like it. Newer students gravitate to him because he makes the hard parts feel doable — and the wins feel earned. Growth mindset by default, every class, every round.
Insomnia's competition team trains alongside the regular program with sharper expectations: harder rounds, structured drilling, and real coaching through tournament season. We compete IBJJF, NAGA, and local Florida events. You don't need to be a phenom to join — you need to be coachable, consistent, and willing to lose well before you win.
No annual contracts. No initiation fee. No upsells.
Unlimited classes across every program. The way most members train.
No commitment. Perfect for travelers, visitors, and anyone testing the waters.
"I walked in with zero experience and left my first class actually wanting to come back. Everyone introduced themselves. Nobody tried to wreck me. Coach broke things down clearly. I'm three months in and I haven't missed a week."
"I've trained at four gyms across two states. Insomnia is the first one that felt like family from day one. The coaching is detail-obsessed and the rolls are honest — exactly what I wanted."
"I came for fitness and stayed because of the people. Lost 22 pounds in my first six months and gained a room full of friends I now train with three nights a week."
"As a woman starting jiu jitsu, I was nervous. Jessie made the room feel safe immediately. I roll harder here than I ever did at my old gym, and I trust the partners I'm rolling with. That's everything."
